Your insurance should provide cover against personal accident and sickness, medical expenses, emergency repatriation and personal liability. We also recommend that the policy covers cancellation, loss of luggage and personal effects.
We strongly recommend obtaining a ‘Cancel for any reason’ clause included in your travel insurance for overseas trips booked after 23rd January 2020.
Health, Fitness & Medical Conditions
Please enquire prior to booking if you are unsure of your fitness or current ability to participate in our adventures. All our trips require varying degrees of physical health and fitness, and endurance. You can see the general degree of difficulty on out Trek Grading page, but please enquire if you are unsure. Some require extremely high fitness and endurance. It is vitally important to ensure you are physically and mentally up to the rigours of your intended adventure. Choosing an adventure that is not appropriate for you could have an impact on your own, or other group members safety.
Primal Adventures will request medical information between 2-8 weeks prior to your adventure. You will be asked all the questions you see here. It is vitally important that you answer truthfully so we can administer the appropriate treatment in the event of an accident or emergency.
You may be asked to obtain a medical clearance from your doctor. If you are not able to obtain a medical clearance from your doctor, your deposit is fully refundable. Any cancellation after a successful medical clearance is subject to our standard cancellation policy.
We can also offer guidance on adequate training and preparation for out adventures. Please enquire here regarding obtaining information.
Trip Cancellation
Cancellations of the trip by the company may happen if minimum numbers are not reached. A minimum of 8 weeks notice will be given to you with the option to book onto another trip or to receive a full refund. We will not advise you to book travel and other arrangements until minimum numbers are reached.
We reserve the right to cancel a trip in whole or in part if we deem it necessary to do so due to a ‘force majeure’ event. This refers to any event beyond our control, and to which we did not contribute. It includes but is not limited to; a civil commotion, natural disaster or force of nature, act of God or the public enemy, or governmental restraint or restriction, which renders us unable to carry out the original trip itinerary in whole or in part, and which cannot be overcome by the exercise of reasonable care, proper precautions and the consideration of reasonable alternatives.
Trip Leaders
Primal Adventures’ trip leaders take their responsibilities seriously and if for any reason a leader believes, in his or her absolute discretion, that you should not participate before your departure, he/she may exclude you from the trip. In this event, you will be offered the option of taking another tour considered suitable for you or offered a full refund. If for any reason during a trip the leader considers you should not participate further due to you committing an illegal act, or in the opinion of the trip leader, your behaviour is causing or is likely to cause danger, distress or annoyance to others, or your fitness or health (mental and/or physical) is questioned, he or she may direct you not to continue and you must follow the trip leader’s instructions. In this case you will not be entitled to any refund.
Primal Adventures reserves the right to change, at any time, the trip leader/s of any tour. If that happens, Primal Adventures will try to ensure that the alternative leader has expertise commensurate with that of the original leader/s. Any such change by Primal Adventures will not give rise to any right on your part to cancel the trip or claim any expenses, loss or damage which may be suffered.
Route changes, Postponement, Cancellation or Delay
Primal Adventures reserves the right to:
- Cancel or modify any routes within the tour or objectives set out in the itinerary; or
- Substitute different or equivalent routes within the tour in place of cancelled or modified routes, or
- Postpone, cancel or delay (either in relation to the departure or arrival times or the duration of the tour) any such aspect of the tour if, in the absolute discretion of Primal Adventures, it is necessary to do so due to inclement weather, snow or icy conditions or circumstances that are otherwise likely to be hazardous or dangerous or due to any other adverse or threatening conditions whether political or military or terrorist or global health epidemic or otherwise or if, in the absolute discretion of Primal Adventures, there is a likelihood of any such event occurring which may impact upon the safety of the participants, or if an act or omission of a third party prevents the tour or the aspect of the tour being undertaken in accordance with your booking or for any other reason considered necessary by Primal Adventures.
In the event of any change, modification, cancellation, postponement or delay under this condition, you acknowledge that you will have no right of refund of the tour price (whether in whole or in part) and no right to claim compensation for any injury, loss or damage or other additional expenses incurred by virtue of the change, modification, cancellation postponement or delay.
You acknowledge that travelling with Primal Adventures requires a degree of flexibility, good humour, and an understanding that the itinerary, accommodation, and/or modes of transport may change, even after the trip commencement, without prior notice. Every reasonable endeavour will be made to keep to published schedules, but no guarantee is given.
