DAY 1 – QUEENSTOWN
On Day 1, you’ll arrive in Queenstown, the adventure capital of New Zealand. We’ll be staying at the Heritage Hotel (4-star) that sits near the shores of Lake Wakatipu, set against the dramatic Southern Alps. After a trek briefing, join us for an optional group meal or feel free to explore and soak up the atmosphere of this beautiful town!
DAY 2 – LAKE MONOWAI TO GREEN LAKE HUT (3-4 HOURS HIKING)
After an early breakfast, we’ll drive via Lake Te Anau to the start of the Green Lake Track at Borland Bivy. The track climbs through ancient beech forest and areas of tussock grass past beautiful small lakes until we arrive at Green Lake Hut. The hut is very comfortable, has a wood burner and is situated on the tussock covered shores of one of the most spectacular lakes in Fiordland! In the afternoon, explore around the lake, take part in a stretch session or simply relax and read a book before enjoying a delicious healthy dinner! BLD
DAY 3 – EXPLORE AROUND GREEN LAKE (4-5 HOURS HIKING)
After an optional morning swim in the lake we’ll enjoy a leisurely breakfast. We’ll then put on our day packs and head off to explore the beautiful scenery around Green Lake. We’ll start by climbing up a steep track that climbs up above the lake. This is a great spot to enjoy lunch and to take in the spectacular views. After heading back down to Green Lake Hut you’ll have the option of taking an additional hike to the shores of Island Lake or enjoying some time out reading, taking photos or relaxing by the hut. In the evening you’ll enjoy another delicious healthy dinner by the wood burner! BLD
DAY 4 – GREEN LAKE HUT TO QUEENSTOWN (3-4 HOURS HIKING)
Today is our last day in the wilderness. After an early breakfast, we’ll head towards our exit at Borland Bivyy. The track climbs a forest-clad hill before descending into low lying areas of tussock grass, small lakes and beech covered saddles. We’ll then meet our private transport back to Queenstown. Enjoy the stunning scenery as we drive back via Lake Te Anau. Tonight you can either fly back home or enjoy an optional group meal to celebrate the trip! B
